Take a deep dive into AI’s role in spreading and amplifying disinformation and derailing civil dialogue. Incivility affects businesses, the economy, our productivity at work, our physical and mental health and the safety of our communities. We need to be talking about this as a profession, but we’re not, and it’s only going to get worse in the lead up to November’s presidential election. No group is better equipped or has greater moral responsibility to bring our collective expertise to bear on putting the “civil” back in civil discourse than members of the PR and communications profession. You’ll leave with concrete ideas on how you can position yourself as a role model for effective and inclusive civil discourse, starting with understanding the pervasive role AI is playing in normalizing uncivil speech and intolerance and desensitizing social media users to destructive rhetoric.
